February is Heart Healthy Month – Go Red®!

Posted by Unity Health Insurance on December 23, 2016

gored.pngFebruary is American Heart Month, focused on raising awareness that heart disease is the leading cause of death for both women and men.

To prevent heart disease, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends eating healthier, exercising more and quitting smoking. See the calendar for fun ways to incorporate heart disease prevention into your daily life during the month of February.

The Go Red For Women® movement is an initiative specific to women and heart disease. Heart disease and stroke cause one in three deaths in women annually. This initiative encourages awareness and action to save more lives.

National Wear Red Day® is on Friday, February 3, 2017. Everyone is encouraged to wear red to bring awareness to this group and cause.
